Paul Stanley Herringbone Tweed Suit (1980s)
Two-piece skirt suit designed by Coco Beland for Paul Stanley with the original tags from Emporium-Capwell in San Francisco still attached. (In the eighties, this suit retailed for $171! Almost $500 today.) Boxy fit jacket with lightly padded shoulders, a single waist button, and a matching button on each sleeve. Skirt is fitted in the waist and hips with room in the legs and a side split in the front — looser than a pencil skirt, but slim cut. A zipper and button close the back. The herringbone wool tweed appears purple from far away, but look up close and it’s black woven with fuchsia, violet, red, yellow, and green. Stunning material. Both pieces are fully lined in black.
