Ivory Brocade Coat from Shanghai (1960s)
Custom-tailored coat from Shanghai - incredible detailing, quality, and workmanship. Thick, warm, and structured. Straight, boxy fit with slight chest darts. The outer is ivory/glittery gold floral paisley satin brocade, accented with soft blues and greens, lilac, and baby pink (striped on the reverse), finished with black velvet knotted frog closures and snaps. Black velvet trims the sleeves, Mandarin collar, welt pockets, and jacket front. The inside has a full insulation layer of solid red, thick wool felt. Over the wool lining, there’s a partial shell liner from the chest to the neck made of weighted silk twill in salmon. The same silk lines the pockets. Vintage from the sixties.
